  We just finished working with Bank of England, Valparaiso location, for our new home. It was the most stressful experience ever and I would not recommend them to anyone. Between my husband and I, we've purchased a few properties and this by far was the worst experience ever. When we met with BoE they provided a pre approval letter that we took to the new home we were purchasing, signed a contract, listed our home for sale, and got an offer on it. A couple of days after, it turns out that we were pre approved for an incorrect amount, by about $20k. Okay, we sold our house in a day and that's fast, but we trusted the bank to provide the right pre approval amount. They would know, not us. From there it got worse. They needed a lot of documents, which I understand. What I don't understand is why the process was so unclear and unorganized. I sent some documents at least twice, maybe three times. Some things they asked for they didn't explain what they were for. Explanations were short and unclear. Closing was delayed because of all the documentation even though closing was set 5 weeks earlier. We ended up staying in a hotel for a few days and keeping our stuff in uhaul. They paid the extra costs and provided an extra credit but still, they should improve their customer service because it's such a big purchase for the average person. I am so glad the process is over.
